My story may be different to yours, but what is important is that you’re here. I am so happy that I can help you along in achieving your goals by thinking outside the box, and laughing your way through the process. I am a passionate and caring coach, driven by having experienced my own weight loss, giving me firsthand experience with how you can always do more than you think you can.
For most of my life until late in my 20s, I hated exercise, started and stopped countless gym memberships, and lived off of the SAD Diet (aka the Standard American Diet). Never mind the marathon, I could hardly be bothered to walk to the fridge. As aging started to hit and movement started to get more painful than ever, it was obvious that I needed to do something, fast. I had started and stopped with many fitness programs over the years.
Then I found Pilates and fell in love. Long story short, Pilates is the reason I'm getting into and excelling at running and triathlon, at an age where many athletes are going into retirement.
Pilates is the gateway drug of fitness, made better by the fact that you can literally do it anywhere. It is the ultimate foundation through it’s combination of core strengthening, postural correction, and breath control, and it opens the door for you to crush it at virtually everything fitness related you want to take on. In my case, I am now addicted to running and getting faster despite having recently turned 40, thank you Pilates. If my younger self who was 30 kg heavier looked in a crystal ball and saw that this would be her middle aged self, she would be shocked. Which is precisely why my passion in life is now sharing with you what transformed me, to accelerate your very own transformation.
As a mother, with my little man getting more and more active, I realized that he needed a strong role model in his mother. Someone strong, someone motivated and that has a can do attitude, this is why I decided to set up MIA Fitness & Pilates. By smashing the paradigm of what you think of fitness as being, you'll spend the rest of your life amazed at what your body can do!
Just 3 months of Pilates can have a marked improvement on your posture, mental and emotional well being. Not to mention the ability to make your body work for you in the way that you want it to, and to make whatever physical activity you want to take up feel amazing. I offer both group classes and personal/small group training to get you to where you want to be.
What sets my training apart is that I make it realistic, and help you have fun along the way. I'm all about helping you to push your limits, intelligently. I can absolutely help you achieve some massive goals, by helping you get to the baby step goals along the way. I'm pretty merciless with cracking jokes, not just because I'm cheeky, but because laughter is the best pain relief. Like anything in life, the less seriously you take yourself with fitness, the further you'll get. Even more importantly, there is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to fitness, and one of the most important parts of my job to help you filter all of that out.
